Every crate was for sale. Regarding the large trees, I think that I read that the 'purchase' was more of a sponsorship program for replanting them elsewhere.
When I have more information about the "aftermath," I will post it.

Excellent report and wonderful pictures Kerouac.
It must have been fun to be there, but I cannot imagine that more that 25% of all who attended got to see everything...? It must have been hot, and I hope the crowds were moving. I can imagine stagnation around the animals and food areas.
It will be interesting to see how the clearing away and clean-up goes though I imagine that it will be just as efficient accomolished as well.
Thanks very much for all your good work.

Thanks. I'll be going to work tomorrow in the area, and I will know immediately when I pop out of the Franklin metro station (at around 8:15 a.m.) if all of the cleanup has gone according to schedule.
And my camera will be in my pocket.

Great report and pictures Kerouac!
What an event, a very interesting concept and oh so much work to organise. Another great insight to amazing Paris. Those crowds looked huge.
Thank you for your time an effort

The information was available months ago, but most people don't hear about such things until just a day or two before when the media start talking about it. I would venture to say that a lot of farming areas of France were a lot more aware of the event than the Parisians. As attached as the people are to their little villages, the thought of going "up" to Paris to dazzle the city slickers has great appeal.
