All the vegetation of France on the Champs Elysées

Okay, this is a first for me, because I have made a preliminary report on the gigantic "Nature Capitale" project before it even opened this morning. I think it's interesting to see how they put everything in place before actually visiting the final result.

Here is my report: http://tinyurl.com/39po4fo

(I'll add my report about actually visiting during opening hours a little later.)

Has there been any discussion in Pari about the carbon footprint of this?

There is a kind of Cartesian mania in France for rearranging nature into straight lines.

I just read up on it. I see it is another Gad Weil event.

Fantastic! What a production. Is that one of Patrick Blanc's vertical gardens on the Monoprix? Also, do you know what breed of cattle those are? Thank you, Kerouac.

You'd think that Parisians, at least, would have work vests designed by Lanvin.

(Still working on the report about the ambience this afternoon.)

If that IS you on the skates, I'm considering cougar-dom!

Neat, neat, neat!

All of that work for just two days of display?
A week might have been better.

Okay, I finally finished the report, so you can now visually wallow in the crowds.

Does any of the media coverage deal with how EU agricultural subsidies -- French farmers are the biggest recipients -- have destroyed rural economies in Africa and other parts of the world -- in no small part why immigrants from these places end up in France?

On the one hand, I am glad that you did the wallowing in the crowds so we wouldn't have to. On the other hand, you are in Paris and I am not.

Thank you so much for your on-the-spot reporting, this was truly fascinating.

Yes, a wonderful report with detail photos but it looks like a pickpocket's paradise. What happens to all the growing vegetables after the event closes?
