Alhambra Parking Question
We will be going to Granada this week and Staying in the Hotel Guadalupe for two nights. It seems they do not have any parking at the hotel but advise you to park in the Alhambra parking lot (11 Euros per day). Does anyone know if this parking is montitored? I am not sure I feel comfortable leaving our car in the Alhambra parking lot if we won't be within a visible distance. Anyone been there and left their car up there? Also, anyone know how far it is from this hotel to the entrance of the Alhambra? Thanks for your help.

As I recall the car park is right close to the Hotel Guadalupe and is monitored, at least it is during the day. Not sure about night time. It is also an open-air car park and not enclosed, as I recall.
There are other car parks down in the city which are enclosed and maybe it would be best to park there. Tow trunks are quite rife in Granada, as I found out myself last year.
The entrance to the Alhambra is a very short stroll from the hotel Guadalupe.
If you haven´t already, you should prebook your tickets on www.alhambratickets.com

Thanks Lenci for your quick response. Glad to know its monitored during the day, still hoping to get a response from anyone who has overnight parked there. Tis the season for car break ins and although we wouldn't leave anything in the car, would hate to have to pay for a new window. Yes, we already booked the Alhambra tickets but thanks for the reminder. Any thoughts on what to see on the drive up from the Jerez area? Maybe a stop or two would be in order...

We parked at the Alhambra parking lot this fall. It is monitored. I would not worry at all about leaving your car there while you are in Granada. It is impossible to drive in most of the city and much easier to leave your car close to your hotel rather than in the main part of the city which is quite a trek.

Just wanted to update those who are doing the same thing. Had a great weekend in Granada. Parking up at the Alhambra was a breeze, yes it was monitored and we didn't have any problems. The Hotel Guadalupe was great and couldn't have been a better bargain for one Bancotel Coupon a night. The location was great. Only complaint was the thin walls (people next to us had a small baby that cried all night) and the hard bed. But, all in all it was a great hotel. So convenient to the Alhambra and the minibuses and outside of the confusion of the city below. Thanks to all that replied.
