Airport Transfers...

Hi...I am wondering if it is best to line up an airport transfer to our hotel upon arrival at both Mykonos and Santorini? Should I line it up prior to arrival or is it easy enough to handle when we get to each island?

Thanks!

Are you going during high season? I would wait until you arrive. What if the plane is late or early?

Where on Santorini is your hotel? Taxis to Oia cost around 25 euro. Other destinations are less. If your hotel offers a transfer at a reasonable rate it might be a good idea, especially if your hotel is cliffside since the transfer will include someone to carry your bags to your room. If you opt for a regular taxi one of you should go outside immediately upon arrival to secure a taxi while the other waits by the baggage carousel for your luggage. There are only "so many" unreserved taxis at the airport to meet the planes.

We are going next week, Nov 12-20th and we are staying in Fira on Santorini, and Cyclades (?) on Mykonos. Arrive in Mykonos at 3:35 pm and Santorini at 7:30 pm.

The taxi from the airport to Fira should cost no more than 12-15 euro.

"Cyclades" is the name of the island group, not the name of a Mykonos village or hotel.

I've arranged for a pick-up with the hotel when I stayed there, b/c I was told that a taxi is not that easy to come by as they are limited. Much to our surprise there were a few taxis waiting around and none were the one I reserved. We ended up waiting for 30 mins and approached a few times about a ride. So, I think you'll be find if you grab a taxi when you arrive.
