I'm not opting for the refund, I agree that right now is not a good time to do so financially speaking for the airline industry. I am going to wait and reschedule my flight if possible. TWA has a policy of allowing ticket holders to rebook their flights up until November. I am also waiting to rebook for a week or so, with the thought in mind that personnel must be insane with all the new security measures and and with much of their service still cut back.

m in brooklyn

I just contacted Virgin Atlantic and they won't give us a refund because our departure date 9/22/01 is 1 day after the last day 9/21/01 for refund. When we asked for rebooking, they asked us to go back to our travel agent. Should't the airline be able to reschedule for you? What do think I should do next? Should we try contact VA again?

Thanks.

Spoke to Iberia today. It appears they have changed their policy. Although I have not as yet implemented a cancellation this is what they said.

Iberia will refund or credit (purchase price) even non-refundable tickets for flights scheduled to Sept 30 as long as the cancellation takes place before the departure date. Of course, I would prefer taking advantage of the discounted ticket price of my original ticket but they won't permit a reschedule. I gues you can't have everything.
Good business practice for a much maligned company.

According to Virgin Atlantic, our tickets, if not used, are valid for 1 year. But we will have to pay $150 penalty per ticket plus the ticket price difference if any. We are very disappointed, unless VA changes the policy, this is our only option.

Does anyone else have trouble getting refund or rebooking with airlines?
