Airfare to Scotland

For a while there, the airfare to Scotland (from the West Coast)for this coming September was around $800 and, of course, I waited a bit too long and it is $1000-$1100 now. So, is there a chance it will revert back to its senses or should I just buy before it gets to be $1500?

Thanks so much for your opinions.

With the cost of oil going up every day there is little possiblity fares will go down, probably up and up so book now!!! don't wait. I booked our travel on British Airways last Dec. for a trip in June of this year. When you see a price you like TAKE IT.

I'd look at fares to all the major European hub airports and consider buying a separate flight or use ferry / train to get to Scotland - BUT allow a lot of time for the transfer.

Thank you cheriton and alanRow for your input and suggestions.

I will probably wait a month or so, take (some more) chances, and then swallow my pride and buy the air into Edinburgh. Husband and I are not too creative when it comes to travel so we better stick to the basics even if the basics are a little more.

Thanks again,

September is still a ways out. That price will likely fall at some point between now and then.

I fly from the West coast (SFO)yearly and I do not know of flights that go direct to Edinburgh. However, it would be a piece of cake to fly into Gatwick or Heathrow, get to Kings Cross station and take the train. If you help on how to do this, just ask. eople here will be glad to assist you.

I don't know if you would consider this, but if you wuld think about flying out of Vancouver and into Glasgow, there are some terrific deals to be had. In September, for example with Zoom Airlines, you can do that round trip for about $600 Canadian dollars which are around par today.

If you can use points to get to Van, all the better.
