Airfare to Ireland

Any one have suggestions for airfare to Ireland? I am going over for work and would like to take my wife with. We would be traveling July 29th (after 6o p.m. US central time) or July 30 and returning on Aug 7th. Our airport for departure is MSP (Minneapolis/St. Paul) and flying or need to get to Dublin.

Best I can find is $1200 something from Airfrance.

Any help would be great!!!!!!!

You have any discount (domestic) carriers that serve MSP? Toronto-Dublin is available for $801 all taxes included, on precisely the dates you're seeking; AirCanada-AerLingus via Glasgow.

Best wishes,

Rex

Nope, NWA has a strangle hold on MSP. Maybe I could find something to Canada

Before you get all worked up about YYZ-DUB, check the fares between MSP-YYZ. I have a feeling you will end up with ~ the same $ amount.

You will have to face reality. You want to leave in less than 3 weeks during an extremely busy summer season between US and Europe. There are no bargains out there.

Your only hope is www.priceline.com

Good luck!

I found ir on orbitz - - As AAFF said, YYZ is Toronto, but you don't have to know that to do the search on Orbitz.

I started with AerLingus.com but I couldn't find any open flights at all (from/to ORD, for example) for your return date, nor plus or minus one day.

I seem to reall traveling to NSP (quite a few years ago) on some low-cost carrier, from Chicago Midway (I lived in Columbus at the time, and had to fly some different carrier to get to Midway, probably Southwest); I just don't remember the details. Thought maybe you had some choices that could get you to YYZ (by way of Midway?)

If you can get a $1,200 fare on Air France with a not-too-crazy itinerary, I suggest you grab it.

Because I can't even find that fare. The cheapest "bookable" fare on Orbitz for MSP-DUB is a weird USAir/AA mixed itinerary for about $1,150.

Most other itineraries, including better one-stops on NW or KLM on 7/29 are in the $1,400s.

Since you are flexible on the outbound you should try www.priceline.com, 7/30-8/7. Offer ~$750 and see what happens. What do you have to loose? (You should not try 7/29 as the flight you may get could be departing before 6 pm)

If you get it you save a nice chunk of $.
