Airfare costs from Boston to Edinburgh?
Hi all, trying to figure out when to book my air flights and don't really have a clue about costs. Boston to Edinburgh tix are now below $1000 round trip. But is that cheap for June/July travel, or should I hold out longer?

The person who can tell you exactly when airfares will go up or down is either lying or stands to make billions.
Have you signed up for airfare alerts on sites such as Kayak.com? If not you might consider doing so; conjecture as well as "what happened last year" can end up costing a lot of other people's money sometimes.

I paid more than that for my Boston-Edinburgh tickets leaving July 31 of this year. When I see prices drop a couple hundred dollars as you just did, I find that I am happiest if I book it. It could always go back up, and even if it goes down a little bit I try not to worry about it.

We want to go in the opposite direction (usually not a good indicator of price). I have to say that the days of cheap transatlantic flights seem to be numbered. We are finding that the only routes offering what we would regard as a normal fare (£500 out of summer, £750 in summer) involve at least two stops.
For this route, a Dublin stopover would normally make sense.
$1000 including tax would seem to be a pretty good price.
God, I have just checked SKyscanners, Aer Lingus are offering BOS to EDI with a short stop in Dublin for £650. I would rip their hands off!
