Agriturismo Palazzo Bandino - Comments/suggestions

I have seen 2 reviews of Palazzo Bandino rented through In Italy Online on the Slowtrav wes site. While both are positive, I cannot find any other references to the property or the agency (other than on their web site).

Has anyone else had any experiences, positive or negative with them? I am a newcomer to this site so forgive me if I am overlooking any obvious information.

My wife and I are planning our 3rd trip to Italy (first time with kids) and want to "park" in Tuscany and make day trips prior to spending time in Cinque Terre and Rome.

We have never stayed at this type of an accomodation before (always booked hotels directly) and want to make sure we find the right property and agency.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated (on this property, properties in Tuscany or Cinque Terre, agencies and traveling with Children-6 and 11).

Thanks in advance.

...Oh yeah, I should tell you,

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) we will be in Italy for 2 weeks, June 2-14. We are looking for moderately priced accomodations (under $200/nt...preferable way under!) with a pool and other diversions for the children.

Hope this helps!

GregW
Greg - I topped another post with a comment re Palazzo Bandino - and here's a cut and pasted comment:

Author: Joanne ([email protected])
Date: 07/27/1998, 12:03 am

Message: We stayed at the Palazzo Bandino in Chianciano Terme near Montepulciano. The buildings seemed new but the atmosphere was charming. They were i the middle of a vineyard, had a swimming pool, and various types of accomodations: one bedroom villa with linens and dishes supplied, and several 2 bedroom, 2 bath apts. When we needed a bottle of wine, we bougt one from the winery for $1!!

If you search using the keyword Bandino there are a few more - although these two have the most info.

Good Luck!

Greg,
I'm one of the SlowTrav posters - I'd suggest e-mailing InItaly.com directly. I've found them to be very helpful (and candid) in describing properties and matching them to your needs.

The location is fantastic and so is the staff. The only downsides (which may not be downsides for you) are that there is no satellite TV, the clothes washer is shared with other guests and the living room furniture was a bit spartan. If you are interested I can e-mail my snaps of Palzzzo Bandino.

Thank you all for your responses and advice. Looks like a great place.

Has anyone dealt directly with the owners or can you only book through an agency?

Thank again!

GW
