Agriturismo in Sardinia
Hi, I'm looking for agriturismi recommendations in Sardinia (any part of the island) as we're hoping to head there for honeymoon in October.
We're looking at the slightly less rustic, more luxe end of the scale. Somewhere that we can chill, eat good food, swim in a pool if it's warm enough (wishful thinking)?
Ideally I'd like somewhere that is in walking distance of a town or village, I'd like to be able to venture further than the agriturismo for dinner and have a glass of wine, without the need to drive home.
We're open to finding a few places and moving around a bit to make the most of our time on the island.
Any recommendations would be fab!

Hmmm. If you haven't asked on TripAdvisor, you should.
I'm wondering if upscale accommodations in small towns wouldn't be better for you than agriturismi, because I tend to think of agriturismi in Sardinia as very rustic, very farm-y. They are enchanting for that, but the accommodations are not plush, and most of them are quite a hike from anything (at least the ones I know of). And small towns in Sardinia are really very very tranquil.
But here are some suggestions, with interesting sights or beaches nearby:

In October tourism in Sardinia is basically closed especially in the North East - Costa Smeralda (which includes raincitygirlsuggestions).
The Forte Village to the west of Cagliari would probably still be open but as a complex would perhaps not be what you are looking for.
Maybe you could consider a different part of Italy. The heel of Italy - Puglia and the Salento in particular is quite wonderful. Stay in a Masseria which is essentially a fortified farm dwelling. There are so many choices but in october I flew to Brindisi and stayed at one near Alborobello (this was a few years back so I cannot remember the name but it was a 5*).
A car is essential which allows you trips to Alborobello, Ostuni, San Vito dei Normanni, Lecce, Otranto (all in Puglia) as well as Matera in Basilicata. This is just a selection and a car allows you so many diversions which is just wonderful. The olive harvest will be starting.

Sardinia is nothing like Puglia. It is a unique island of the Med with ints own delicious food and folkloric culture, a quite varied culture as you move about the island. It is irrelevant that for me, personally, Puglia is the only region of Italy I've visited that I disliked save for its lovely people. Obviously other people like it so if someday you want to go, do --- but don't go in October out of the belief it will be livelier than Sardegna. Most of Puglis is in a coma from October to April.
If you want to be swimming in a pool in a beautiful setting in October & research doesn't show you appealing options in Sardinia, I would sooner recommend the Amalfi coast and points south of there or scenic spots in Sicily.

This last posting is very revealing. I thought massimop was Italian or rather an Italian resident in Italy - perhaps not.
If - in his opinion - Puglia is in a coma from October to April then in what state is Sardinia!
Looking at his various postings he is pretty eclectic and not an Italian specialist no matter what he tries to appear.
