After Paris where?

Going to spend New Years in Paris for about a week and then have about 8 days to go anywhere....

Have been to London, Italy, Germany..in past year.

Where would be a great place to go in that Jan time frame(cold). Would you go down to Provence area?

Has anyone have good knowledge of skiing in Courcheval or Chamonix? Looking for some great ideas? I realize it is a broad question but have hit a real mindblock on some places to go in Jan...thanks

My first thought is go south for warmth, but that's cause I'm not a cold weather fan. What about Corsica? Sort of French with an Italian twist.

Have you thought of maybe trying out a week in Florence/Siena. It will be chilly but it's always been a favorite of mine.

I have skiied in Chamonix and it was wonderful. Courcheval has great reviews but always mentioned as expensive! Bon chance!
