We're supposed to go to Ireland next week and I just heard Aer Lingus is threatening a strike. It doesn't look like the airline is doing a lot in preparation, either. There's almost no mention of it at their web site, and nothing about what travelers might do. If anyone heard more than I did I would appreciate hearing from you. <BR>

Pat is right. The cabin crew are set to strike on the 17th. The Irish Times (http://www.ireland.com) reported yesterday that up to 20,000 passengers will be affected byt his strike. <BR> <BR>Call Aer Lingus' 800 number to see what contingency plans they're planning (if indeed they're planning any). <BR> <BR>Good luck.

Hi folks, <BR>Well the bad news at the moment is that Aer Lingus have cancelled all flights on Tuesday 18th Oct due to a planned 24 hr strike by their Cabin crew. They have promised to reschedule people onto flights on other days. The baggage handlers and catering staff went out for 2 hrs on both Sat and Sun - just to cause disruption more than bring the airline (and airport) to a standstill. However one result of the announced planned cancellation may be to bring both sides (and government Ministers) to the talking table. It is all an attempt to get a pay rise before the company moves from semi-state into an IPO. Keep an eye on www.ireland.com or the TV service at www.rte.ie or even aer lingus at their web site.
