I support it. Noto or Scicli is a good recommendation. We spent a week in Salemi and stayed in a local villa, but for fun we got into a car and drove around all the surroundings.

Do you speak the language of the town you are considering? Your interactions might be limited otherwise. Maybe think about a town with a language school where you can pick up some basics of conversation in your time there. It woud also give you some socialization to fall back on, since it may begin to feel lonely with no one to really converse with.
