Thank you for all your road experiences! We don’t plan to drive in or out of Strasbourg so the car rentals would be in Colmar and Beaune. If we plan to do any serious wine tasting, we will go on an organized tour or use public transport! We did a 3 week trip to England back in 2017 and other than London, we were driving. The roundabouts almost ruined our vacation (and our marriage lol!).

In a remote area of Scotland, my wife hit an obstacle on the left of the car. Tire was wiped out. With questionable cell service, we called Europcar for a tow. Six hours later we were back on the road, but had to drive past the point where we had the accident to get to our destination. That took another hour. Fortunately this was the only trip where we bought insurance and a special tow add-on.
