You don't understand the problem. There are hundreds of things to see and do in Rome. I have sometimes spent half an hour writing out a response to a vague question only to get an answer like, "We really aren't into art." Do you think I'll keep doing that again and again?

Of course nothing's wrong with asking vague questions, but most of the people with a wealth of information will prefer to answer the questions that give them something to go on.

I use the internet extensively when planning a trip, but the first thing I do is buy several guidebooks, not just one, and I read them. I bought three guidebooks for our recent trip to Switzerland. I hit the internet after I've read them.

Wesley, travel forums are full of wrong information that never gets corrected, much more so than most others sources on the internet.

I like the impossibility of some of the questions. The careful of reading of the words looking for a clue as to what secrets the OP is keeping to themselves and what possible response I can offer to stimulate further feedback. I'm beginning to develop a whole background story of being a rock-hound so I can bore someone who wants information on light opera with the development of Victorian granite.

I also love to see other Fodorites leaping to divergent opinions about the OP and then to tell me off for my opinions based on just a turn of phrase.
