Can anyone advise whether when driving from Polignare a Mare to Vasto it is feasible AND WORTHWHILE to see any part of the Gargano without circumnavigating it entirely? We'd be leaving P.a.Mare at a reasonable time, say 9am and would just need to get to Vasto by 3 or 4 pm where we want to have dinner on a trabocco. Is it worthwhile to drive to the national park? Or perhaps the northern side near the two lakes? I've read that the roads are arduous to drive. We would like to arrive in Vasto to have time to check into our hotel, freshen up and still have some daylight on the trabocco, which in May should be possible. Thank you.
