Well, I'm obviously <b>not</b> getting it.

Do you have to copy the &quot;properties&quot; of the graphic and then post it using the &quot;img src&quot; html convention?

Is there a legend somewhere for the smiley faces? I hesitate using them if they're not absolutely self evident!

Ok, I know the link that takes you to the smileys, but I like to know how people found this link.
Maybe I didn't look carefully through the help topics, but I couldn't see the link on the website. So how did people find, http://www.fodors.com/forums/smileys

Ask Clifton, I guess...

First referenced here - - http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34419917 - - Which, I think, was also when Fodors first enabled it.

is it like:

It doesn't work.

I just stumbled on it right after they first started the feature. No mystery or anything. I had something in a previewed post that accidently translated to one of the gifs. I right clicked on the icon to see where it came from and it had an address like:

http://www.fodors.com/forums/smileys/bigsmile.gif

Since bigsmile.gif is the file name, the rest of the address is the directory on the server where those files are located. So I tried it.

Anyway, the actual reason I was looking for one of these threads was to see if I recalled their tagging scheme for colors... I seem to recall that it's not exactly html.

<font color="red">Test</font>... <font color="blue">Blue</font> .. or <font color="green">Green</font>...

Annie: This works for me on a Windows PC.

Hold down the alt key. While holding it down, type 0128 on the number pad. Let go of the alt key. For me, the Euro symbol shows up. I've heard that it doesn't work for everyone. Even though it works for me, I must confess that I continuously still keep typing out the word &quot;Euro&quot; (one fewer key to press impresses the typographically lazy).

A more generalized approach to the Euro sign is to use the standard HTML escape sequences <b>&amp;euro;</b> for &euro; and <b>&amp;pound;</b> for &pound;

These work independently of the platform used to compose the message.
