Adare to Dingle?

Is Adare to Dingle too far to drive in one day (my 2nd day in the country, driving alone)? If so, where would you break your trip?

From Adare to Dingle, would you recommend the coastal route (small roads, via Foynes, Kilconly, Dreenagh (Kerry Head)) versus the more-inland route (via Listowel) versus the even-more-inland route (via Newcastle West and Castleisland)? Which route is most interesting?

Diane, It is about 85km to Dingle Town from Adare, allow 2hrs drive time. We drove from Dingle to Tarbert thru Connor pass,R560,N86 to Tralee, N69 to Listowel. The roads were country roads but in decent shape. The towns are small so you don't run into traffic problems. Do you plan to sight see? Dingle is lovely. Take the Slea Head road and see spectacular scenery. Connor Pass also offers a lovely perspective down toward Dingle Bay. We had a picnic lunch on Ventry beach...alittle down time walking along the shore before driving to Slea Head.
