Accommodation recommendations for Sintra, Evora and Lagos
Just to keep my posts organized 🙂 I have started a new thread.
I am looking for recommendations for Sintra, Evora and Lagos. I am open to Airbnb but I prefer to stay in small guesthouses or hotels. As I will be without a car, central and walking distance to the sites.
Thank you for any input.

For Sintra, you might look at the Hotel Sintra Jardim. The decor is dated and it's a bit outside of central Sintra (but within easy walking distance, IMO), but the grounds are lovely and the staff were very helpful.
For Evora, you might consider the Valeriana Exclusive GuestHouse. Great location, wonderful breakfast, and again, very helpful staff.
Also: You might ask the moderators to add a tag for Portugal to this thread.

I saw notice that it is closed temporarily. I assume you can check on booking.com to see if it's available when you will be there. If it is closed at that time, looking in that area would be a good idea, IMO.

Kelsey22,
For Evora you could also consider a Fodorite favorite, Albergaria do Calvário, which sits inside the walls. It has lots of character but it gets booked up very quickly, as it's used by cycling groups, but not in the summer, when it's extremely hot in the Alentejo region.
We've also stayed directly across the street at M'Ar de 'Ar Aqueducto, which is where the Rick Steves tour groups stay, but not in August. It's larger, a full service hotel and has a pool. They do have a summer offer, since Evora isn't so busy in summer due to the intense heat.
Another option could be the Vintage Guest House Casa do Escritor (with pool).
For Lagos in August, the hotels will be at full capacity. You might consider the B&B 3 Marias in the center of Lagos.

I second Maribel’s recommendation for Albergario do Calvario in Evora; we were there a few years ago and really enjoyed it.
And in Sinatra, we stayed in the utterly charming Chalet Saudade (https://www.saudade.pt), a lovely guesthouse in a great location.
