Accommodation in Cote d'Or, Burgundy, France

We are 2 newbie travellers (a couple) to France in May '07 from Australia and are interested in recommendations from experiences re private self contained style cottage accommodation in the Cote d'Or Department of Burgundy, France.

You must look at Coco's www.myhomeindijon.com. Many of us on here have stayed there, and although it is not a cottage, but an apartment, I don't think you could find a nicer, more convenient place to stay. Coco is a wonderful "hostess", and Dijon has to be one of France's best kept secrets. I would return in an instant!

Check out the website as well as doing a search here for all the accolades Coco and her apartment receive.

There have been many many great report's on Coco's flat and it's right in the heart of Dijon, one of France's most unheralded towns IMO and many others. The pictures of Dijon on her site prove this!

Coco: Sylvain writes:

"Dikave, lims les orlipes du niglo on dirait qu'il se les aient (ait?) fait petave!"

Please translate for non-French speakers! He says you won't be able to get this - i'm betting on you though, la jeunette!

Not to diminish the recommendations for Coco's apartment, but we just came back from Burgundy and had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Cep in Beaune. The staff was wonderful and the rooms very pleasant.

drrb Thanks for your thoughtfulness. I don't blame you, it is a very nice hotel which has good reviews, but it can be a little expensive when you want to spend quite a long time as rates start from 125€(single) to 500€ for an apartment (with a kitchen?)breakfast 18€. You may want to spend it in good Burgundy wines! (Great if you can do both )

Pal I wrote you on your email address here but it won't work, can you contact me through my website please? merci!

Oh Pal! You just have to click on the inkpot on the "description and rates" page. I should make it bigger perhaps.
If you have any suggestion...

Hotel Belle Epoque is well located, charming, and reasonable. Great breakfast and free parking. Helpful host. Our double was 85 a night in June, '04.
