accommodation advice in barcelona

Hi - I am visiting barcelona for the first time in september and have been looking for places to stay. I am wondering whether it is better to stay in an apartment with friends and save on diging out or to stay in a hotel? I have found a place called cathedral B&B - has anyone ever stayed here before and can they give any feedback?

Wehen we were in Barcelona we stayed at Apartment Citadines Las Ramblas. It was great and I would highly recommend it. As we are a family of 4, we were having a hard time finding reasonable accommodation.

The location was excellent, right on La Rambla but we asked for a quiet room and got an apartment in the building at the back which was much quieter. Our apartment had a large bedroom whith a queen bed, a living room with aa large comfortable sleep sofa, a beautiful large and elegantly appointed marble bathroom. A small kitchen with a 2 plate stove, refrigerator and mini dishwasher. Also a nice marble balcony with a glass railing. everytthing was new and beautifully furnished. Maid Service for the time that you are there is extra. There is a laundromat in he basement. Breakfast is also available at an extra charge. It looked good but we did not eat there, but had breakfast in the apartment. There is a Marks and Spensers with a great food department about a block or 2 away.

I really loved it and would definitely recommend it. It is actually nicer than the generic picture they show on their website.
