Accademia & Uffizi reservations @ Thanksgiving
Will it be necessary to reserve for these "hot spots" in Florence during American Thanksgiving? I was hoping the city's top sites wouldn't be so choked with tourists that time of year, but I'll plan ahead if necessary.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

I don't recall ever having to reserve. It is wise to always arrive early for places that are "hot spots", especially the Uffizi. Also, please be aware that the David is getting a bath, hopefully that will not spoil in your experience at seeing its glory. Make sure you climb the narrow steps to the top of the Duomo. Well worth the hike!

It's not necessary but to be honest it saves valuable time regardless of the time of year. I was in Florence the end of March and by 9:30 the line to get into the Uffizi was already extremely long. Remember, they only let so many people into the Uffizi at a time. I'd make the reservation, but that's just me.

Hi Heidi,
I agree with csroe. To find the easiest way to make reservations at both museums see 'helpful information: Italy'

Thanks gang. Got the thread from ira and have been keeping track of all of his excellent advice (including the secret entrance for advanced reserve ticket holders and the much praised Il Ritrovo restaurant in Florence). This is my third trip to Florence, and I am determined to LOVE it!
