In Rome for a week during the winter. What is the absolute best one day trip out of Rome in 10 words or less. Bus or train travel <BR>okay.

The best day trip I had was to visit Hadrians Villa and Villa D'Este. Either by bus or train. <BR>

Pompeii, 2 trains, ~3hrs

i vote for orvieto quick 1 hr trip and loads to see htere. get a guide book and educate yourself about all the atttractions there-there are many. a good walking town. be sure to see the facade of the main basilica with its blsck and white marble,tdruely impressive. food good if you can see if they still are serving wild boariincredibly good.

Ostia Antica. I liked Tivoli/Hadrian's Villa better, but it hadn't been mentioned so I thought I would. Egads I've gone over 10 words.<BR><BR>j
