It's good you people are not doing this alphabet backward for a possible DUI, because we're all over the alphabet board. We went from "I" to "D" which would get you thrown in the slammer. Just to get back on track:
F= Formaggio (hey, you can't have a wine picnic without cheese).
G = Groppello (not Arnold's nickname in Rome, but a red wine grape in Lombardy region)
H = Hotel Hermitage (Firenze Hotel that serves wine on its rooftop patio. Great place)
I = IGT ( I admit I cheated and googled for this letter. It stands for Indicazione Geographica Tipica or Typical Geographic Indication) . Supposedly this classification gives wine grape growers a wider possibility of choices, sets less restrictions and gives more freedom to producers to make his or her own decisions about production methods.
Perhaps a wine expert could elaborate.
OK, let's get on to "J".
