I haven't been to this part of Germany before, just noticing the architecture. It's much more Swiss architecture than what I think of as German - just not as painted or colourful as other parts of southern Germany, but still very picturesque!

Hi Adelaidean! Yes, it's a great place to wander! It is gorgeous!
bilbo -- guess it hasn't changed much in a few decades...
Thanks Trophywife007! Hope you enjoy it when you make it there!
That's interesting, lavandula; I never noticed that!
Well I'm off in about a week for Switzerland

Hallo Mel!! I love that you're having fun in Switzerland right now!! I'll only be in Montreux in Switzerland. I was planning to stop in Brunnen first, but I'm battling an inner-ear infection right now and didn't think I'd be happy to travel by Tuesday. So I'll just start with Montreux on Friday. Lol, I'm lucky my changes only meant train changes and no transatlantic flights!
I enjoyed Locarno-- hope you do too.
Waiting for your gorgeous photos!

I am off for the next two weeks, so have several day trips planned: Lauterbrunnen, Vevey, Bad Ragaz and Appenzell are on the list. Am also planning to do some local trips -- Rheinfelden, Riehen, Liestal -- and see a few exhibitions at Basel museums. But I especially want to see the outdoor sculpture exhibition at Bad Ragaz (Bad RagArtz).

Just finishing up after five nights here Adelaidean. We've been full on busy. Had some nice weather, a nice change after our not-so-great weather in Grimentz.
Yes, overall we like it here, but it's a bit too busy for our tastes. Loved Bellinzona though.
We head to Celerina for four nights tomorrow, more familiar pastures.
I've been writing my report as I go, so should be able to post it in a few weeks after a bit of cleaning up.
