A collection of Museum pass entrances in Paris.

If you have the position of an entry that allows for use of the museum pass in Paris, that could cut down line up time you may like to post it here. Can you tell I hate lining up !! )

Someone posted very recently that their museum pass, which they thought would help them avoid the lines at L'Orangerie, did NOT. They still had to have a timed reservation to avoid the line. Reservation available at ? Anyone?

We used the pass to avoid lines at Louvre and the D'Orsay.

Advance timed tickets for Musee de l'Orangerie can be purchased at any FNAC ticket outlet. Do a search here, someone posted a list. You can also purchase advance tickets (undated/untimed) for Musee du Louvre and Musee d'Orsay for skipping the lines without a museum pass.

What details to you want to know? I think they have a website with hours, etc.
http://www.musee-orangerie.fr/

It's possible you could buy a reservation at ticketnet which is online and in Virgin Megastores, also. I don't know, as some museums only affiliate with one agency, and I know FNAC sells them, as others mentioned.

A lot of museums won't allow you in with just a pass if they have timed entry, that often requires a separate reservation, so that doesn't surprise me.

It might not be as crowded when you are going, but because it's new, it may be. The line was about a block long when I was there in July (but I had a reservation, so no problem).

If Michael Osman knows you want to go there, he should be addressing this issue as your guide. He must know about it and should be able to get reservations. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow for spontaneity and just dropping by when you are ready.

You should be able to get a museum pass easily at any of the small or minor museums on the pass, and there are many of them on the list. There are really only a few museums in Paris that are really popular and may have lines.

Musee de l'Orangerie, before closing for restoration, was included on the museum pass. Since it has reopened, however, it is NOT. (Last I looked, anyway.)

If you do a search here for "orangerie", you'll find an informative post by RonZ, with a list of FNAC ticket outlets and their addresses, about purchasing tickets in advance.

The Orangerie is on the Pass website, but it's still listed as "closed for renovations"

You can use the following website to order tickets online for L'Orangerie, choosing specific dates & times:

http://www.francebillet.com/place-sp...USEE-NYMPH.htm

I've used it to get tickets to a Chopin concert and a jazz concert in November. Will pick up my tickets upon arrival in Paris.

Lots of other choices, too!

Note: this time of night, the website is usually down for maintenance.

I was in Paris last week and the pass can be used at the L'Orangerie. It was a big help. The general line was very long but there is a second line for reservations and passes. If you are facing the museum doors, the lines are to the left of the doors. The inside line is the general line, and the outside line if for passholders and reservations. We saved at least a couple of hours because of the pass.

The pass also saved us at least an hour waiting at the Louvre and d'Orsay. At the Louvre, you just go to the entrance of the wing you want to enter and show the pass, no waiting in line to get the ticket. At the d'Orsay, the pass line is just around the right corner from the front doors. The general line goes into the front doors but passholders go into a side door.

At St. Chapelle, you still have to wait in the security line but once you get inside, go directly to the door and show your pass. The line is for people buying entry tickets. That probably holds true for most of the museums.

Have a fun time!
