9 nights Spain

Have a round trip ticket from Newark NJ to Barcelona last week of May 2015. Only 9 nights. Thinking of spending all 9 nights in Barcelona, with day trips. Also thinking of breaking it up with 2 hotel stays in different parts of city. First few nights in Poble Sec and then in Eixample. 9 nights to long in the city? Should I just choose 1 hotel & stay put? Going on my own so want to try & keep things simple....need to unwind on this trip...Thanks

Very good plan. Poble Sec is excellent, very local atmosphere and a great tapas bar scene. http://www.travelersdigest.com/667-b...a-tapas-trail/

Two of my favourite restaurants in Barcelona are in Poble Sec.

La Perla is as genuine as it gets, fabulous traditional Catalan food. Lunch only: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...Catalonia.html

Had a fantastic night at Xemei a couple of weeks ago. The Bigoli en salsa Veneciana was sensational: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Lvcjtoh0tU

The Adrià brothers (El Bulli) Michelin star restaurants Tickets and Pakta are both close to Poble Sec. Tickets is now #57 on the S. Pellegrino World's best restaurant list. Had a new fabulous meal here two weeks ago. Paradise versions of traditional tapas ++. Very affordable for what you get, payed 70€ pp for 13 courses with drinks incl. http://www.ticketsbar.es/web/en/
Pakta: http://www.barcelonabook.com/pakta-restaurant.html

AND the cutting edge Ciutat Flamenco festival goes on 21-24 May at the Mercat de les Flors theater in Poble Sec/at the foot of Montjuic (Jewish mountain). http://mercatflors.cat/en/ciclesifes...amenco-2015-3/

I'm not sure why you want to stay in two neighbouring areas, they're not far enough apart to warrant moving hotels. Why not just find a place that borders on both?

Thank you all, you have answered my question. I will find one hotel close to both areas. So next question..any hotel suggestions? My max would probably be $200.00 night.

Thanks again

Lots of fine places around heart of the city Placa Catalunya, bordering on Eixample and a 20 min walk, a short metro ride (Linea 3) or a 5-7€ taxi-trip from Poble Sec. A couple of options:
