7th area for Christmas

today I posted for the first time on this site and was happy at the response with such good information. I am leaning toward staying in the 7th area, and now need your thoughts on a hotel for christmas this year, I know this is late but I know that I can surely find something. Also any suggestions for restaurants for that day....many thanks,

hi, what is your budget? That can make a big difference as there are anything from 2 to 4* in the 7th (not as many 4* as other areas, but a couple).

FYI, you forgot to put Paris in your subject title, so people when they see your question won't know what city you are talking about, unfortunately. Maybe you should post again and state budget, with a new title, before this gets too old.

In the 7th Arr, I like the Hotel Kensington on Avenue de la Bourdonnais, 79 (http://www.hotel-kensington.com/), they are centrally located within walking distance to the Champs-Elysees and just across the street from the Eiffel Tower. I have recommended this hotel to many friends of mine as well and they have all been very pleased with the property and their stay(s).

P.S. A restaurant suggestion....my favorite is "La Fontaine de Mars" at 129 Rue Sainte-Dominique, telephone 01 47 05 46 44. Reservations are needed as it fills up quickly and is quite popular with both locals and tourists alike. It rates consistently high in the Zagat guide.

I noticed that I forgot to include Paris in the posting. thank you. I was thinking that I should be able to get a nice hotel for about 300 euros. I may be off the mark in this assumption.

I just got an e-mail from Hotel Residences du Roy. The Pont Royal has a Xmas special (11/15-12/29) for 265 Euros. It's a very nice hotel on the edge of the 7th. We've stayed there twice.

That's a very good hotel for an excellent price.
