Thanks, s! The time for the walk was what I was concerned with. I have some people in my group who can walk for a certain distance, but not, perhaps, four hours! So 40 minutes is about perfect, actually.
As always, thanks for all the great and detailed information!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Maudie. I don't know where you are with your planning, but at the risk of being over-zealous, I'll repeat what I've just written at my Ticino trip report thread, and that is my discovery of the "promotional materials" pdf files at ticino-tourism.ch. If you've eliminated Ticino from your itinerary, don't look, but if not. . . . . . One of them seems to be on walks, another on food (I think I spotted an entire file on cheeses), and the one I'm deep into, "Contemplation." If you're in the mood to go clicking, I think the second icon in each set is the one in English. Be warned, you'll want to print them all. (Have I said how envious I am of your fifteen days?) J.

Hi,
Just had a nice bottle of wine and a Brie with our friends and we have decided to take out the Zermatt night and have an extra one either in Lugano or Vevey.
jwm44, I think I may have found the "walks" one you are talking about - that is where I got the info on the San Salvatore to Morcote walk and the Lugano to Gandria one but I will have another good look on that site for the others you mentioned. I also sent away for the promotional material which is quite interesting including a 3d type map.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Maudie
