6:00 am flight London Luton to Paris

Has anyone taken the 6:00 am Easyjet flight from London Luton to Paris? Do I really need to arrive 2 hours before the flight (4:00am!!)I plan to check in online and only take carry-on. This will allow me to go straight through to security when I arrive at the airport. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

Yes, it is advised you check in 1-1/2 to 2 hours prior to your flight, no matter what. Granted, Luton is smaller than Gatwick and Heathrow but you should always follow their recommendations. Just simply stay at a location close to the airport and take a taxi.

If you do decide to stay close by the airport, there are 2 hotels that are very close to the terminal. I think they are Holiday Inn Express and Ibis (if not Ibis then another big chain). The shuttle bus from Luton Airport Parkway train station goes past them on the way to the airport. There are a lot of roadworks in this area and the airport website warns people to allow extra time so keep that in mind when planning your journey.

I would get there early like they recommend just to be sure. Better than missing your flight. We have seen unbelievable queues at check-in at Luton.

I think the worst check-in lines we've ever been in were at Luton in the very early morning. They have a lot of flights going out very early and very few workers checking passengers in. They kept changing which line to be in for each destination as one destination's boarding would close. I certainly wouldn't get there any later than an hour and a half before, and the two hours is really a safer bet.

Thanks for the feedback, I guess that I better play it safe and get there early. I am staying close by in St. Albans and plan to take a taxi since there won't be any trains or buses operating at that time

Check with easyjet for that particuar flight. In my experience, check-in desks don't open till 5am.
