4 of us in Turkey

Hi,

We would like to go to Istanbul,Cappadocia and Ephesus this fall. We are thinking of going the middle of Sept. or the middle of October depending on our schedules.
Please tell me ( if any of you have been there at those times), what the weather is like. Will we hit rainy season in October ( 16th) or will the weather be good? The temp is also important to one of the girls cause she doesnt like cold weather. Please respond if you can because we really need to make these plans soon. Looking forward to some answers... natjgc

I had fabulous weather last October; I was in Istanbul and along the north Aegean coast as far south as Ephesus during the early part of the month. Cotton shirt during the day; light jacket on some nights. I had a half-day of rain in Istanbul on one day during the second week.

Thanks for your response. I'm nervous because we took a trip to London one October and were told that the weather would be beautiful... it was very cold and rainy. I dont want a repeat of that last trip but the middle of Oct would be much better for me. I need to know if Sept would be safer as far as weather. natjgc

Loook, it might rain for a day but in that season, in either month, I think chances are excellent that you will have great, warm weather. Istanbul has a different climate than your other two destinations but these are both great months in which to travel.

Ekscrunchy,

Thanks for your answer. I think you are probably right about it being nice that time of the year. natjgc

Natjgc,
You might want to take a look at www.weatherbase.com which provides a lot of information on temps, precip, etc.on a month-by-month basis. I have found this site to be fairly accurate, although one never knows with the weather.

Good Luck.

We were in Greece and Turkey a few years ago in late October and had wonderful weather. No rain that I can remember. Locals wore coats. We couldn't understand why. We were in shorts
