4 days in Sardinia
We're going on a catamaran cruise in northeast Sardinia, flying into and out of Olbia.
We have four days before the cruise and need help figuring out what to do. Since we'll see lots of beaches and beautiful water on the cruise, we would like to see historical things and the "real" Sardinia. We plan on renting a car. Any suggestions?

There isn't a lot to see in terms of monuments. The main historical 'buildings' in Sardinia are the nuraghi. These are prehistorical complexe structures that you will find all over the island. Nuraghi are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Sardinia is full of national parks. The drive through the Parco Nazionale del Golfo di Orosei e del Gennargento is awesome, with breathtaking views in the Supramonte mountains. Dorgali, Oliena and Orgosolo are some of the typical villages. You can make nice walks there, as well as in the Valle di Lanaitho.
Don't underestimate driving times if you take the smaller roads ... it goes very slow!
