Want to take my young, active mom on a 4-5 day trip from east coast US overseas. She did London last year in 4 wirlwind days and had a blast. The world is our oyster outside of time constraints. We like lots of culture - museums, architecture - and fun restaurants and cafes to people watch. We don't care about weather particularly (as long as we can walk in it). Amsterdam. Great walking town. Easy for English speakers. Plenty of museums, restaurants, shopping....

I second Amsterdam. Consider Edinburgh too...I loved it there.
