We're going to Dublin this Saturday and then driving to Galway as well. According to Via Michelin it is 134 miles and about 3 hours. Among other things we will visit the Cliffs of Moher. We are then going to Killarney and the Ring of Kerry, then down to Cork and back up to Dublin over a 10 day period.

It's definately more than 3 due to the roads. I would estimate 4 unless you are a race car driver
.
If you only have 4 days do Connemara and Galway city. Kerry and Cork will just leave you constantly driving and not stopping and seeing anything.
Go Dublin, Galway, Leenane, Clifton, Dublin. That should keep you busy and even skip Leenane and just stay in Clifton 2 nights.

yes, it's about 3 hours from Dublin to Galway. The roads most of the way are very good. The only exception would be if you're trying to leave Dublin during rush hour traffic in the evenings (particularly on Fridays). Otherwise, you shouldn't have a problem getting there in 3 hrs.
