3 Weeks in Sicilia!!

thanks for a fun and fascinating TR, dodi. For our 10 night trip last year we concentrated the east of Sicily but covered a lot of the same ground, even staying in the same B&B in Piazza Armerina and having the same guide [I think] at the Villa; we thought her very good and she definitely added to our enjoyment of that part of the trip. We were very glad that we had 2 nights there - we were able to spend as along as we liked at the Villa and then used the rest of the combined ticket to go to the Greek site nearby and the museum that was included which we enjoyed a lot, though the Greek site was boiling hot even in September. And we had the chance to explore P. Armerina itself which being medieval rather than Baroque made an interesting change to Ragusa where we had spent the previous 2 nights.
It was a great trip and I'd love to go back in the spring to see the west of the island and the flowers of course.

Thank you! My husband is from Palermo, although he moved to the US when he was 16, over 50 years ago! He hasn't been back in a very long time, and I have never been there. So I want to finally plan a trip sometime within the next year.

Ny,
I stayed at La Forresteria Planeta Estate on my trip in 2013 and have been recommending it ever since! I had a Garden level room with lavender blooming right outside. Heaven. Lovely restful hotel with great views, fantastic food, outstanding staff. Not too big. Just right in every way. Try to get a res, you wont be sorry!
Buon viaggio!
