3 star hotel in Madrid
We are taking our daughter (she's 22)to Spain in mid June. We would be happy with a 2 bedroom suite or if we need to we can get a double and a single. We want to stay close to the Plaza Mayor area. Any suggestions?

When in June? It's going to be very difficult to find a two-bedroom suite in that price range. You can check the Prado, Preciados, Lope de Vega and Las Cortes to see what they offer, but much will depend on your dates.

You may be able to get a triple at Best Western Carlos V. I don't think they have suites, and 2 room would be more than your budget.
It is a nice 3* very close to Plaza Mayor. We stayed in a quad there a few years ago, and it was a good sized room for the 4 of us.

The 4-star Hotel Preciados has standard doubles listed at €129/night + VAT for 16 June 09. There are no specials running in mid-June, but no two bedroom suites.
You might want to check out Apartmemtos Los Jerónimos. They have a two bedroom unit listed at €180/night + VAT in mid-June. One double room, one single room, two bathrooms.

We have stayed at Hotel Plaza Mayor several times, most recently in 2006, and have been happy with it. It meets your specification of "close to the Plaza Mayor". In 2006 a "Superior Double" room was 90 Euro. I don't understand, nor do I pay attention to, the "stars", but the hotel is recently refurbished and was excellent. There is breakfast, but no full service restaurant.
