3 nights in London

I have won a trip for 2 for 3 nights in London, staying at the Rydges Kensington Plaza. Would be grateful for any information on what to see while we are there.

Your best bet will be to browse a couple of travel books on London or click on "destinations" above and go to the London information. Another thing that will help you with information is to type in London in the search box above and read some of the threads that have been on the board previously. That will start you off on your trip.

Kensington is close in and easy access by bus or tube to the "tourist attractions".

Is there one thing in particular that you would recommend seeing, something definately not to be missed?

It really depends on your interests. But if you have any interest in history, Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London are musts. Walk from Trafalgar Square down Pall Mall to Parliament and you will see the panorama of London familiar from films and television. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese (near St. Paul's Cathedral) is heavily visited by tourists, but is still a wonderfully atmospheric English pub. Another lovely pub is The Lamb, on Lamb's Conduit Street (in Bloomsbury) Have fun!

trineee: On your other thread you say you also won 3 days in Paris. On that thread several folks have asked "when", and what sorts of things you enjoy. But the only answer is "broad interests".

That does not add much to help us help you.

There are literally hundreds of great things to see in both cities so w/o at least a bit of work on your end it is really hard to give you any advice.

Trineee, plan to take the Hop-On Hop-off bus trip around the city your first day to get you oriented and you can "Hop-off" any place that interests you.

We are thinking June or July. Would like to visit some of the traditional parts of London, have a hop-on hop-off tour & trip the the "eye" included in trip. Some of the lovely gaardens would be good as well as other places to eat. Thank you to everyone who has replied.

My list for musts are Westminster and the Tower of London. Both require at least half a day. A silly thing that I liked was the London Eye. Oh, and try to see a show.
