cheska, I was referring to 2 famous/infamous threads which have passed into fodor's folklore - this one looks like joining them due to Sparkie's brilliant contributions.

Yes indeed annhig, I still love reading LoveItaly's posts. We spoke many times on the email and a few times on the phone. And best of all, I was fortunate enough to meet her at a San Francisco GTG. When she passed I heard from her wonderful daughter. I will always miss LoveItaly.

P_M - I never had the chance to meet her but I know that she was much loved by all who did.
Now, does anyone remember the name of the wonderful thread about the person who took his potato salad to a party and the hostess gave it back to him as he left?

cheska - I think it may have been in the Lounge, in a thread about what to bring to a GTG.
It began with a story about someone bringing a potato salad to a social gathering, and being somewhat nonplussed to have it returned to them, untouched, by the hostess who had clearly thought that it was an inferior offering for her table.
Where it went after that is the stuff of fodorite legend.
I'd love it if anyone could find it.

In bringing up wonderful old threads, anyone new here should read these two. They are my all time favorites.
