3 days in Berlin
We recently spent 3 days in Berlin (with a toddler) and there's a few things I'd like to recommend:
First of all, our hotel: the Oderberger in Prenzlauer Berg, which used to be an old bath house and still features a huge indoor swimming pool. The area is great, full of amazing restaurants and cafés. The tram M1 took us straight down to Hackescher Markt, from where we could walk to Museum Island and beyond to see the sights. A personald favorite restaurant by our hotel was "Flying Monkey", a very tasty Asian restaurant.
Because we didn't wanna join a large public walking tour with our toddler, we booked a private tour guide and his tour was the highlight of our trip: Matti is a local East Berliner who had so many amazing stories to tell. He found us nice cafés whenever we needed a break and really made sure that the pace suited us. If anyone is looking for a private guide in Berlin, make sure to contact Matti on Tours of Berlin.
Following Matti's recommendation we went to Anoha, the childrens's world of the Jewish Museum the next morning. It opens at 10 and is incredibly popular, so you need a time slot to get in. But by getting there at 9:45 we were allowed in as well, after they let in the first ticket holders. It's a fantastic indoor playground. Artists built a giant Noah's ark with lots of animals, that also serve as slides, swings, etc. Never seen anything like it, really well done! This is the link: Anoha
Finally, I wanted to recommend the restaurant Coccodrillo, an Italian restaurant in a park next to an amazing playground. It serves delicious food, and it has the most spectacular decoration. Really funky, crazy, wild. A trip to the bathroom was like going into some sort of mirror ride in a theme park. If you're ever staying in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg or Mitte neighborhood, check them out!
