I don’t think anyone has specifically mentioned London Walks. These are 2 hour walking tours with a variety of themes and locations. I believe there is a walk of Harry Potter film locations. You don’t have to book just show up at the tube location listed. I have done quite a few over the last 30 years and highly recommend them. . Excellent guides who are always entertaining. If interested have a look at their website London Walks "London's best guided walks" Time Out - London Walks

Word of warning for what it's worth: Big Ben is completely covered in scaffolding as the Elizabeth Tower undergoes a multi-year refurbishment. I'm not saying "don't bother" but this will be your view and it won't make a sound:

Thanks again for all the wonderful suggestions! isabel, I presume you took those photos and they are superb! My wife is also an excellent photographer and I will have to show her your pictures. Obviously this trip will be just a "taste of London" as a precursor to our France trip, so we can only hope to see a few highlights Our last trip to Europe some years ago, we had to choose between Paris and London. I wanted London thinking that there's not all that much besides a big tower in Paris, but as it was my daughter's undergrad graduation trip, she insisted on Paris and I realized how foolish I was - I loved Paris. Hopefully, London will be as fun. I didn't previously mention that I was hoping (probably in vain) to see Libera in London as I grew up in the Catholic church in the boys choir. There is no schedule for them yet and they travel world wide so they're just as likely to be somewhere else while we're in London.
