2nd Request - Globus Alpine Countries Tour

We are going on the Globus Alpine Countries Tour in September. Has anyone been on this tour? What type of weather can we expect? Any information on the hotels and meals provided would also be appreciated.
Hello - We just got home from a Globus tour thru Switzerland. We travel alot and always make our own plans, and have been to Switzerland alot, but went with a group of friends on this trip with part of it designed around our special interest. Our drivers and guides were nice, knowledgeable, helpful, and very patient and flexible with our special desires. The buses were large, modern, clean. The tour was everything we could ask for, and entirely different from what we anticipated. Hotels were excellent for the most part, only one in Lausanne we personally would not go to again.
My husband, who really likes his independence and likes to be in control was really happy -
never had to worry about driving, parking, baggage, etc. etc. I hope your tour is as good as ours was, and if your driver is Oscar from Italy, and your guide is Eric from Austria, tell them hello from Cheryl, one of the nutty Saint
Bernard people in July! (both of them left on a tour of Austria right after they finished our Swiss trip. Have a great time!

And I'm going on the exact same tour Oct.2nd....what about the weather then (Oct. 2nd-Oct.19th)? We'll be traveling to Frankfort, Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, Villach, Italian Dolomites, Innsbruck, St. Moritz, Lugano, Zermatt, Lake Geneva, Lucerne and back to Frankfort. Has anyone been on this Globus tour and how is touring with Globus? It's my first time. Plus I would love to "chat" with some locals in those areas on the internet...does anyone know how to do this?

Good morning, J. Vaughn
The weather namely in the Alps in September and October can get rainy and cool, would suggest packing at least one wool sweater and a light jacket so that you canlayer against any possible cold.....
As far as the hotels, Globus must have a listing of hotels used in specific cities, and only from that can you determine what you have for lodging and the locationsof these hotels. Give me a list and I will try to get you more information, or try either of these two sites www.hotelguide.ch and www. hotelstravel.com/ for further hotel information.
RICHARD OF HICKORY HILLS, IL...

To J Vaughn
I haven't been on an Alpine Countries Tour; but a few years ago, I thoroughly enjoyed a Globus tour of Germany. The hotels were excellent (mostly of the Queens chain), the food was very good and the driver and the guide were just great. I think you will be pleased that you chose Globus.
Sue - if you haven't already gotten an itinerary from Globus, you will shortly. It'll have all the hotels listed on that (they are subject to change even at last minute - that happened to us couple times). If you let me know the names of the hotels in Zermtt, St. Moritz, Lake Geneva, Lugano, perhaps I can tell you if those were my hotels and give you info. You really don't have to worry though - they use top quality hotels, clean and private baths, breakfasts included. Of course there are always exceptions though.
Sue - unfortunately none of those are the same. But if most are 4* you should do ok, even 3*. Possibly the difference in the hotels is that we went in July which is high season, and you're going at a better time as far as crowds etc are concerned I believe.
