2 days in Umbira

Hi all,
We are spending two nights in Umbria in late March, with our home base in Norcia (suggested by our Italian friends). We want to spend these days seeing what is unique to the region, so not necessarily museums, etc. What other towns should we visit? What shouldn't we miss? Wineries? Amazing food? Quaint towns?

Thank you!
Sydney

2 days is not very much, for a region with so much on offer. We will be in Le Marche (multiple bases) and Umbria (based in Spello) this May, and found these two links very useful to our planning - trust you will have a car

Two days is such a short visit that it's impossible to answer your question. I spent 8 weeks in Umbria a few years ago and barely got to know it. Just glean everything you can from ANUJ's good suggestions above, spend every waking minute seeing everything you can around you, and plan to go back for an extended stay.

I agree that two days would not be enough time. We've been there twice and each time we spent five nights in Perugia. Our day trips took us to Assisi and Gubbio each time. Our impression of Umbria is that it's like Tuscany without the tourists.

If possible, try to spend more time in this area.

Buon viaggio,

More time is not possible on this trip, which is why we’re trying to maximize our time there.

ANUJ,

I'm so glad you are staying in Spello. It remains one of my favorites in Italy!
