2 days in Istanbul.

I'm a single female. Can I walk around the city by myself. I plan to go to the markets and shopping. I'd love to take a tour of the city ? Any ideas will be welcome.

Unless you are handicapped, I see no reason why you should not be able to walk around Istanbul by yourself.

please look at previous posts and especially trip reports for istanbul sights, walks, museums, archeological, architectural. cultural, scenic locations. You can see only a few of them in two days but that is still better than nothing. However, you should select carefully and not regret what you miss.

if you were to arrive in front of the Hagia Sofia and start on foot from there, you could use up your two days just in that area.

Cabs are fine aslong as you do not take them from the tourist locations. Read about possible scams as in Italy. i.e. hiding your banknote and saying you gave a low denomination as you are waiting for your change.

make sure that he turns the meter on and make a show of writing down his number somewhere.
