2-3 Days in Provence in July
Hello,
A friend and I are planning a trip to France in mid July (I know, busy time). After spending a few days in Paris, we would like to travel to Provence for 2-3 days and would love recommendations for how to make the most of our time there.
We were thinking of taking the TGV to Aix-en-Provence (I've heard the station is quite far from the city, but we would prefer not to rent a car). From my research, it looks like a lavender tour or tour of Cassis would work well, especially if we will not have our own car, and so I'd also love recommendations for tour companies in the area as well.
Are there any must-see destinations, or 2-3 itineraries that you'd recommend?
Thank you!

If you have three nights (at least) and can find day tours to both lavender fields and to Cassis, I think a trip to Aix would be great. I really love the city - it's kind of a mini Paris with a Provencal feel. The majority of people will probably suggest you consider Avignon or surrounding towns as they are more central to the rest of "Provence" but as you only have about 3 days and don't want to rent a car you are pretty limited in what you can see anyway. If you had 5 or 6 days I'd say base in St Remy and rent a car for the best Provence experience but with what you have I think Aix would work great.
