This is all great info. I have only one question, if you only havd one day in the area (cruise ship) would you see the sites of Pisa and Florence or Cinque Terre. I live in a costal provence, but love photography and my wife likes to shop... neither of us are big history people.

Planning a trip to Italy in the fall of 2014. I have traveled to Italy a few times, but it has been 10 years since my last trip. I will be traveling with three adults who have not been to Italy. We will have 10-12 days. I personally enjoy Florence and all of Tuscany. I would like to visit Cinque Terra. I am thinking of flying to Rome and spending 2-3 days there and then take a train to Florence. My companions don't want overkill on museum visits. They enjoy cooking and wine. Suggestions??

Hi Joe - you should start a new thread for this one, you'll get more responses that way.
