Hi all, I am planning a family trip with 3 kids in Dec winter! Flying in to Munich on 11 Dec, leaving 25 Dec. Read many forums on 4 days in Salzburg, and maybe 3-4 days in Munich. Any other cities/recommendations? We plan to drive. Appreciate if anyone can share on cheap Germany car rental as well. Thank you!

There are a bunch of neat towns in northern Bavaria - Bamberg, Wurzburg, etc. You could visit some of those. Nuremberg is known for Christmas markets. You could base yourselves in one town and make day trips to see others.
