12 hr Gatwick layover- where can I go for a Rugby souvenir?

I am going to be in London for a 12 hour layover (Gatwick) in October so we'll probably take the train into the city. Can anyone suggest a store or something where I can find some Rugby stuff? Perhaps a jersey?

Lillywhites in Piccadilly Circus (Central London) is London's biggest sports goods store.

You're close enough to visit the home of English rugby at Twickenham if you really want to! You could get a taxi from Gatwick or take the train to Clapham Junction and then to Twickenham. They have a rugby museum, a rugby shop, and can organise tours of the stadium. The RFU's website is www.rfu.com and has all the details.

Bet they don't sell videos of the 1990 Calcutta Cup / Five Nations game with Scotland, though....

I don't know anything about the Twickenham suggestion, but it sounds interesting. Another (kind of lame) thought is that Gatwick has a number of duty free stores, and there may be something in one of them that meets your needs. Otherwise, if the Twickenham suggestion falls through, take the Gatwick express to London , and hit Lillywhites or some other store. Just make sure you get back to the airport in time to pass back through security, etc. (though our experience was that security was pretty efficient there). I will caution you, though: Lillywhites, despite being the biggest sports store, was virtually sold out of Arsenal jerseys after the championship. If there is a particular rugby event coming up you may want to take that into account (I don't follow rugby).

Excellent suggestions, thank you all! Twickenham sounds great, my club actually had a scrum half from one of the Twickenham sides play with us for a couple of seasons before he returned to England. Thanks again!
