11 layover in Paris (CDG)
Hello all!
My wife and I have an 11 hour layover in Paris (CDG) on our way to Rome (coming from Seattle).
We land in CDG @ 8:35 and depart CDG @ 19:35.
I have never been to Paris, so any recommendations on what we can do in that amount of time would be great.
1. Are there luggage lockers at the airport to store our hand carry trolleys?
2. Is a boat tour down the Seine river doable with this amount of time?
3. The Eiffel tower is a must for me, but aside from that, we're pretty open. This is where we listen to your recommendations
Thank you everyone!
Jeffrey

Apparently there is a company called Baggages du Monde landside in some of the terminals where luggage can be checked - not self-checked but checked and then removed to a secure area. You should check which one would be closest to your terminals.
Be sure to get back to the airport in time to pick up luggage and go through security again.
With 11 hours between flights I would assume you have about 6 hours in Paris (1 hour from wheels down through immigration and getting rid of your checked luggage, 1 hour to get to Paris, 1 hour to get back from Paris and arrive at airport 2 hours before flight to pick up checked luggage, make your way to your departure terminal and go through security.

There are several shuttle services which serve the airport. Do a search on this website for Paris airport shuttle to get some suggestions for your transportation. Go to the Eiffel Tower and that's where you'll find the river cruises as well. Perhaps someone can suggest a place for you to stop and enjoy lunch before heading back to the airport.

Are you travelling on one ticket from Seattle to Rome? If so, it may be possible to have your luggage checked through to Rome or to check it right away after retrieving it from the tansatlantic flight.
A round trip on the Seine from Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame and back takes about one hour.
Enjoy your trip (I hope you will be able to sleep on the plane, though).
Phil.
