I wouldn't drive, you don't have time to see the smallest of villages. Public transport is so good. 10 days is just enough time for Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Madrid. If you must stay on the Costa del sol I would choose Malaga.

Thanks for the help. We have decided to drive so we can go at our own pace and schedule. I was going to ask whether anyone has rented from ace car rental in Madrid or knows if this is a reputable company. Their rates are quite a bit cheaper.
