10 day trip to east europe
Hello
We are leaving for a 10 day trip to east europe this coming week. As you can see it's planned last minute. We want to go to Budapest, Krakow, Warsaw, Prague and Vienna.
Yes, it's very aggressive but we are young couple in 30's and kinda used to aggesstive traveling. Right now we don't have the luxury to take more time off and we already have plane tickets for flying into Budaptest and flying out from Vienna.
I plan on taking the 5 day east rail pass for traveling between the cities.
Considering the busy itenary we have do you suggest I should drop Warsaw for spending an extra day in Prague? With the current plan we only have 1 day in Prague
and 1 day in Warsaw. The answer is clear in my mind that 1 day is not enough in beautiful Prague but at the same time i do not want to miss out on warsaw if it's an absolute must place to go!! I don't intend to travel to east europe in near future and and i don't want to come back with the feeling that I missed out on something which was absolute must.
I realize that going to both the places we will not be able to do justice to either place and will only give us a flavor of the cities.
The question is coming down to what's a must attraction warsaw, is it just another big city?
Appreciate your ideas and suggestions.

5 cities in 10 days traveling by train does not leave you much time to see anything. By the time you get from & back to the airport 2 times, check out & into 5 different hotels and take 5 train rides, you've eaten up a good portion of your time on the ground in Europe.

Consider leaving Krakow and Warsaw for another time unless you are really into speed-traveling but then it sounds like you are. The three cities which remain each warrant three days minimum.
My DIL is from near Krakow and if you must go to Poland, she feels Krakow is the more interesting of the two cities.

I would skip Poland completely and do Budapest, Prague and Vienna. Agree with the other posters that five cities in ten days is not realistic as you miss almost one day per city en route from city to city.
Oh, and yes, I agree that Krakow was more interesting than Warsaw. The entire city of Warsaw is rebuilt, including the Old Town.
I'm sure you'll have a great time whatever you decide.

Appreciate your response. I do agree with you that it's a lot of traveling in 10 days but the good thing is they have overnight train from Budapest to Krakow and from Krakow to Prague. That will save us some time and I beleive they have sleeping cars for overnight trains.
I am convinced that we should drop going to Warsaw and spend more time in Prague.
